SUPPORTING THE GID
Supporting the Ballpark GID
The first step in the formation of a General Improvement District (GID) requires that electors petition the City of Denver to form the GID. Electors are defined as:
- Owners of commercial property within the Ballpark GID boundaries
- Owners of residential property within the Ballpark GID boundaries
- Residents who live within the Ballpark GID boundary who are registered to vote there (i.e. residential renters)
A few additional things to note:
- To eligible to sign the petition, electors must be registered to vote in Colorado
- For properties owned by corporations, the corporation must designate an individual to sign the petition on the corporation’s behalf
If you are a commercial or residential property owner, or a resident of the district, please contact us HERE to obtain a petition and/or a designation of elector form.
While businesses in the Ballpark GID boundaries, as well as tax-exempt property owners, are not formally counted in the petition process, we have created a form that you can sign to indicate your support for the district. We will utilize these support forms as we move forward to city council. Please contact us HERE to obtain a support form.
